Lenses

A Lens is a framework or certification scheme through which plans can be viewed and are applied to each Outcome, Action and Indicator (OAI). Data can be viewed, translated and rearrange into multiple frameworks using Lenses. OnePlanet has three default lenses built into every account: 

  • One Planet Living  
  • Sustainable Development Goals 
  • 4Ps 

All accounts have One Planet Living set as their default lens. If you would like to change this, please get in touch at contact@oneplanet.com. 

Users can apply additional lenses to their accounts which may include recognised global frameworks or certification schemes (such as GRESB, Doughnut Economics, B Corp, BREEAM etc) or internally developed frameworks.

Assigning a Lens 

Lenses can be assigned via Mindmap view or Table view. Your existing nodes should already be assigned to the One Planet Living Framework.  

Mindmap view  

Open the Plan you are working on in Mindmap. Click on the Lens icon in the top-left corner and select the Lens you wish to assign from the drop-down. Open an OAI you wish to assign the new framework to and a fly-out should appear. In the fly-out click on the Category drop-down and select from the list which Category you want to assign the OAI to and click save. You will need to repeat this process for each OAI you want assigned. Read below for a more efficient method.  

Table view 

Assigning a Lens via Table view is the most efficient method. Open the Plan you are working on in Table. Click on the Lens icon in the top-left corner and select the Lens you wish to assign from the drop-down. Select whether you want to edit your Outcomes, Actions or Indicators by navigating the top ribbon. Turn on Edit Mode by clicking the switcher from grey to purple. Select from the Category drop-down which Category you want to assign the OAI to. Make your way through the list of OAIs and click Save to initiate the changes. 

Switching between Lenses 

Once all desired Lenses are assigned, they can be switched between across the whole platform. This includes on the Ecosystem Plan, Actions Plans, Search Tool, Report Generator and Connections. To switch between lenses in any of these views, look for the Lens icon and click on it. From the drop-down, select the Lens you wish to switch to.
